Received April 25, 2019... Here's a one of a kind piece of mail art. It comes from Devin Juarez, Rio Grande City, TX. I was not familiar with the sender's name, but I assumed it was another IUOMA-ning member. A quick search of the site told me I was wrong. A Facebook and Google search followed, but I didn't get any closer to solving the mystery. I found a handful of people with the name Devin Juarez - people of different genders. I recently sent mail to my Devin Juarez, so I hope further communication will enlighten me. The mail art arrived in a legal size envelope. My initial thought was, "What in the world is this?" It didn't take long to figure it out. What a clever and fun handmade device...movable mail art, for the lack of a better term. To make the blue person 'walk,' all one needs to do is rotate the metal wire. The 'built-in' background scene is that of a penguin at sea. Devin included two additional backgrounds - for a change of scenery, of course! In order for it to stand, the blue person has a pink tab on back, which is affixed to the scenery.
Mail like this is what keeps me excited about correspondence art. I never know what I'm going to get! A big thank you to Devin Juarez, whoever you are!
