There is a mail artist from Curitiba-PR Brazil who seems to greet each and every new member of IUOMA (on the NING site). He was probably the first person to greet me on the platform. Of course, I'm referring to Patricio - the self-described 'Celestial Scribe.' Patricio hails from 'a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called REPUBLIK van PATLAND.' He seems like quite the character - a man with a terrific imagination, and a great sense of humor. When responding to my mail art, Patricio employed a unique method. He took the written note I sent him, and chopped it up for use with his reply. His handmade post cards include bits and pieces of my letter. I am glad to exchange mail art with Patricio! Love his art and his 'Celestial Being!'

I'm continuing to go through the incoming Summer '18 mail art here in the Lyons' Den. July brought a tiny envelope with two grand artist trading cards from Geneva-based German artist Uta Richter. Both ATC's feature subjects with sad, expressive eyes. It appears that there is pain behind those eyes, but what is the cause of the pain? Here's my thoughts... The girl with the egg has what looks like a red heart-shaped mark under her left eye. Perhaps her heart is fragile - as fragile as the egg. The other female may be disillusioned by the world around her. Her state in life does not allow her to be as free as her fine feathered friend. Very awesome artwork! I love them!
If you'd like to learn more about this talented painter, you can visit Uta's website: uta-richter.net. Thank You Uta! |
