The Lyons' Den continues to get FAB mail art from around the universe. Here's the latest from Judy S. (and her doggie, Joey), who hails from Missiouri. Thanks for the lovely mail, Judy!
More mail art from Mary Grellner in 2018. Mary's notes are warm and friendly. She is a fun correspondent.
Thanks for the great mail, Mary! Mail from August 2018: Judy S. and her lovely dog Joey sent me a post card featuring circles. Judy's note reveals that the card was made by Inge Hauser (Austria) for Judy to send to someone. As I am in the CIRCLES group (IOUMA-ning) with Judy, she decided to send it to me. Thank you, Judy & Joey!!
From November 2018: A little late in posting this awesome creation by Kathy Barnett (MO, U.S.A.) From the Lyons’ Den Herald: “Looks like love was in the air on Halloween 2018, as Maggie Sternum became the blushing bride of the talented Mr. Toes McRibs. It took some real backbone for Toes to propose, but Maggie didn’t hesitate to give him an affirmative answer. You see, the future Mrs. McRibs was quite taken with his funny bone. It was their wishbone to have a small scale wedding, so they operated with a skeleton crew. It is not known if they went on a honeymoon. Guess we’ll need to bone up on the facts!” Okay, enough of my silly story... No bones about it (I know, quit it with the puns), Kathy has a playful imagination, and is a talented artist. I’ve always liked paper dolls, so this is a wonderful treat for me. Even the envelope was decked out for the big day!
Thank you so much, Kathy! (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, April 3, 2018) The month of March ended with mail from Mary J. Grellner! Mary shared one of her new collages, which I like very much because of the vintage elements. Lovely piece! Included in the envelope was a post card of a marble statue of Joan of Arc by Francois Rude, French sculptor (1784-1855).
The pooch pictured here, is Mary's cute dog, Mimi! As a dog lover, I appreciate the photo. Thanks, Mary!! (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 24, 2018)
Judy and Joey sent me mail art from St. Louis. Of course anytime I think of St. Louis, I want to start singing: "Meet me in St. Louis, Louis, Meet me at the fair, Don't tell me the lights are shining Any place but there, We will dance the Hoochee Koochee, I will be your tootsie wootsie, If you will meet in St. Louis, Louis, Meet me at the fair." Love that move and Judy Garland. Now, back to this Judy - |
