Here is a recent piece I mailed to Richard C. (Illinois). I couldn't resist making something from this recycled pop-tart box.
January 14 incoming mail included a postcard from Mr. Richard C. (Illinois). The postcard was made from a portion of a Lindt Chocolate packaging. Love the FLUXUS comic! Many thanks to Richard C!
Received this post card from Richard C. on February 11, 2019: Richard starts off by saying, "When one artist imitates another it only proves the world is in need of one less artist." I'm figuring this is in response to the post card I mailed him weeks before (see below).
Ten is my favorite number! I was born on the 10th of June. The letter J (for Jayne, of course) is the 10th letter of the alphabet! I say all of this because this is the 10th piece of mail art I received for 2019. It is from the fabulous queen of trash, Diane Keys! I participated in the 2018 Barfa Spewart Tacky Gift Exchange. My “Rudolph the Redneck Reindeer” gift to John M. Bennett didn’t make the final three, but in this ‘everybody gets a trophy’ age, I still feel like a winner. Diane gave me my very own Barfa Spewart Christmas ornament! The envelope included a THANKS FOR BARFING 2018 card too!
Thanks, Diane! (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 24, 2018)
Two Cards for the price of one - from Mr. Canard this week. (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 14, 2018) MORE TRASHPO FROM RICHARD CANARD! After receiving this card from Mr. R.C., I thought I'd stop by the local bagel shop to have one of "them thar" redneck bagels. I came up empty-handed! It appears that the Twin Cities is not catering to hicks these days. Haha! Coincidentally, the word HICK (in the late 14c.) was a pet form of masc. proper name Richard. Hey, wait....this card is from a HICK, er...I mean a RICHARD. No doubt they serve redneck bagels in Carbondale, Illusion. Oh, by the way...the Minnesota Twins are sometimes referred to as the TWINKIES. Who would have 'thunk it!' I hope you don't mind my silliness, Richard! Thanks for the card!

I received my first mail art piece from Mr. Canard - TRASHPO! Thanks much, Richard! I'm not much of a fan of Hostess Cupcakes or Twinkies either. (Growing up in Eastern Pennsylvania, I much rather have Tastycakes (Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes, yum!) I agree...there is something to be said about the graphic design elements of the packaging! Love that you recycle / repurpose... |
