Barbargirl (Key West, FL) sent two pieces of mail this past summer.
Barbargirl's mail from June is chock full of stuff - including a colorful, tri-fold card. A pocket (with lots of goodies enclosed) is attached to the inside. I especially like the 'First National Bank of Gotham' one dollar bill!

This envelope of goodies came from Billy Haddock. Just received it on April 5. I corresponded with him for the first time after Ed Geicek passed along Eerie Billy's card / address to me. (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, April 8, 2018) MomKat's mail to me came a couple of days after I sent one her way. She just informed everyone that she's going on holiday, so she probably won't get my mail until the end of April. Katerina forwarded a few Add & Pass sheets from David Aponte, and included a couple of her pieces of art. Thanks so much!

As per the postal service's website: "Informed Delivery allows you to view greyscale images of the exterior, address side of letter-sized mailpieces and track packages in one convenient location.* * Images are only provided for letter-sized mailpieces that are processed through USPS' automated equipment" This is the greyscale image of mail I SHOULD HAVE received from Barbargirl. What a darling piece! Too bad I didn't get a chance to see what's inside! Thank You BARBARGIRL, for the mail that ALMOST ARRIVED!
Nancy Bell Scott is one of my favorite mail artists! I cherish everything she sends me. Number 1, Side A is a photo of a collage piece. Nancy is skillful at layering and adding texture. The asemic writing is an added bonus.
Number 2, Side A is an 'ink minimal.' According to Nancy - she enjoys 'doing it at times. It is SO HARD for me to get minimal!' Here is a piece of mail art that features a handmade envelope by yours truly. I used pages from a 'coffee table' book to make it. K. Rolina from the UK was the recipient.

I always LOVE what I receive from Nancy Bell Scott, and in the short time we've been IUOMA "friends" - she has been so encouraging! I greatly appreciate the support, Nancy!! (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, April 3, 2018) The month of March ended with mail from Mary J. Grellner! Mary shared one of her new collages, which I like very much because of the vintage elements. Lovely piece! Included in the envelope was a post card of a marble statue of Joan of Arc by Francois Rude, French sculptor (1784-1855).
The pooch pictured here, is Mary's cute dog, Mimi! As a dog lover, I appreciate the photo. Thanks, Mary!! A postcard with a sweet note came from Ella Banker in May. The postcard features a proud peacock, and Ella gave it a nice splash of color. I especially love THE BEE "Creativity" sticker. Much appreciated, Ella!
The end of May and middle of June brought two pieces from Henry Guild of Forest Hills, NY.
The first envelope, postmarked May 25, includes street photos entitled "Alice and Keyhole." Two photos show a young man perched on the front step of a city building. He holds the neck of his jacket closed, trying to stay warm. He is unfazed by the people who walk past him. A third photo shows another person sitting on a milk crate. A handwritten sign rests against his legs. A news story is on the flip side of the photo pages, "Two Mexican policemen convicted for murder of Moises Sanchez; chief suspects still at large. |
