Originally posted on Facebook, February 9, 2019. The Lyons’ Den received mail from Sabela Baña, IUOMA (Spain). A post card with original artwork (flowering plant) is terrific! Backside of the post card is stamped with Sabela’s name and address. To me she writes: “Saludos Desde Espana,” (Greetings From Spain).
Thanks for the awesome mail, Sabela!

Received this post card from Richard C. on February 11, 2019: Richard starts off by saying, "When one artist imitates another it only proves the world is in need of one less artist." I'm figuring this is in response to the post card I mailed him weeks before (see below).
Mail from January 2019 Mail from an IUOMA buddy, Linda Rogers (Toronto ON). Linda’s post card offers a great deal of texture.
Thanks, Linda! Mail from Linda Rogers, August 2018: Linda and I are in the CIRCLES group on IUOMA-ning. In her post card to me, she makes mention of circles. The artwork on front includes circles, however at first glance, the eyes are drawn to the triangle shapes and the stripes.
Thanks, Linda! Lovely ALPHABET CARD - the letter "J" for Jayne, and a penguin (cuz I like penguins). A lovely surprise from Pam McVay (Washington State), and friend on IUOMA-ning. Love it, Pam! Thank you!
Mail from August 2018: Judy S. and her lovely dog Joey sent me a post card featuring circles. Judy's note reveals that the card was made by Inge Hauser (Austria) for Judy to send to someone. As I am in the CIRCLES group (IOUMA-ning) with Judy, she decided to send it to me. Thank you, Judy & Joey!!
Mim Golub Scalin sent this slithery post card in October 2018. The card was made for Day 9 of "Creative Sprint, a project requiring Mim to combine two things that don't go together or are opposites." Her card features a snake and a white rodent. Many thanks to Mim!
Thanks so much, TIP! Love me some gnomes!!
From August 2018:
First piece from Jack - Cascadia ArtPost, Olympia WA, a post card "Annals of Commodity Civilization." He certainly drives (pun intended) the point home about consumerism in America! Love the artistamp, vintage ads, and the bit about 'Ford versus Chevrolet.' Thank you, Cascadia ArtPost! What a pleasant surprise to receive mail this summer from W.C. "Bill" Porter - longtime artist, photographer, outdoor enthusiast and owner of the "eclectic enterprise of WCP-NM.COM, Inc. Bill decided to send mail my way when he noticed me on the IUOMA-Ning site back in June. In his letter to me, he gives me a "BIG atta girl for still having" my stamp album from childhood (I mention the stamp album in my IUOMA profile). Bill goes on to ask me about my philatelic endeavors - clubs, organizations? types of stamps I collect? participation in any global stamp exchanges? He also shares his philatelic interests with me. Bill was kind to send some stamps my way (postage, artistamps, international local post). I especially love the following:
June's mail also includes a flyer about stamp collecting. Gotta love the phrase - "KEEP PHILATELY PHUN!" The envelope art - original watercolor art by Bill - features a Southwest mountain. July came and went, and August brought more mail from Mr. Porter - this time in the form of a post card. Bill, again, adorns his correspondence with an original watercolor piece. Cool RAY JOHNSON (Ray Who?) Bunny Stamp!!
Now that I've told you about the mail I received, let me share with you some information about Bill's business. Bill and his wife Kathy operate their subsidiary enterprises out of Olathe CO. WCP-NM.COM, Inc. is comprised of the following businesses:
Looking forward to corresponding with Bill Porter! Thanks WCP! |
