After receiving this card from Mr. R.C., I thought I'd stop by the local bagel shop to have one of "them thar" redneck bagels. I came up empty-handed! It appears that the Twin Cities is not catering to hicks these days. Haha! Coincidentally, the word HICK (in the late 14c.) was a pet form of masc. proper name Richard. Hey, wait....this card is from a HICK, er...I mean a RICHARD. No doubt they serve redneck bagels in Carbondale, Illusion. Oh, by the way...the Minnesota Twins are sometimes referred to as the TWINKIES. Who would have 'thunk it!' I hope you don't mind my silliness, Richard! Thanks for the card!

(Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 14, 2018) My mailbox welcomed this post card from Lisa Fraker! On front is a glimpse of what her paint desk looks like these days. Tubes and tubes of Gouache paint for her latest painting! Would love to see your finished work, Lisa! Thanks for the mail, and look out for one coming your way soon!
(Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 11, 2018) Today's mail included this envelope from Jon Foster. My 10th piece of mail art, and my 2nd "add & pass." These A&Ps are intimidating and challenging at the same time. I'm looking forward to trying my hand at this aspect of mail art. Thanks so much, Jon! Love all the goodies you enclosed!!
(Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 11, 2018) Vintage goodness arrived in my mailbox yesterday! This scrumptious piece is from Barbargirl! Thanks so much! I love it! Enjoy your paradise home! No more snow shoveling for you, my friend!

I received my first mail art piece from Mr. Canard - TRASHPO! Thanks much, Richard! I'm not much of a fan of Hostess Cupcakes or Twinkies either. (Growing up in Eastern Pennsylvania, I much rather have Tastycakes (Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes, yum!) I agree...there is something to be said about the graphic design elements of the packaging! Love that you recycle / repurpose... (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 5, 2018)
Another warm welcome ~ this time from Nancy Bell Scott! Thanks so much, Nancy! A pleasant surprise, indeed! Nancy included three scrape collages. I like her technique, and enjoy old scrappy bits! On the envelope is a stamped phrase: "Don't get even, get odd." Love it! (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 5, 2018) Howdy All, I received Kristen Hermanny's mail on March 3. So much to love: 1) the lumberjack stamp - Kristen pays homage to her dad's family from the Upper Peninsula, who were loggers. Living in Minnesota, I am reminded of the folklore of Paul Bunyan and his blue ox, Babe. They are said to have created the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota by their footprints, incuding Lake Bemidji, which indeed has the shape of a giant footprint resembling it when viewed from high above. 2) the Minneapolis Riverfront stamp - a great reference to Minnesota. 3) the olympic postage stamps - cool because of the recent Winter Olympics. Kristen wrote a lovely note on "bone-shaped" paper. (Woof!) A very nice pen friend, indeed! So glad we got acquainted on Instagram, and she introduced me to IUOMA.
Hopefully I will be as prolific as you, Kristen! Thanks so much! (Originally posted on my blog at IUOMA, March 4, 2018) Holy Buckets! The mail just keeps pouring in! I am so loving it! This postcard is from K. Rolina! What a warm welcome! I especially like vintage collage images, and this piece really fits the bill. Thanks so much, K. Rolina. You rock!!
